-
4) How did the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry start?
After many years serving Christian organizations and churches, the leaders of this outreach ministry became increasingly burdened by the division and lack of unity among professing Christians. Turning to God’s Word for answers, these same leaders could not escape the Bible’s relentless, convicting, and clear teaching on the subject of Christian unity. They concluded there was a need for this teaching in the body of Christ and determined to make sound theological resources available for believers to use in understanding and promoting Bible-based Christian unity.
-
5) What do you mean when you invite someone to “join” the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry?
Biblical Christian unity is a serious need among God’s family. The vision of the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry can only be accomplished as lives are transformed—lives from a variety of churches, cities, countries, continents, people groups, and social standings. Our objective is to help you learn what the Bible really says about Christian unity. If we achieve that, we hope to challenge you to live it by applying what you’ve learned to your everyday life. Then, as you live with a greater love for your Savior and your Christian brothers and sisters, we hope you’ll share what you’ve learned about Bible-based Christian unity and our mission with other believers.
For a more thorough understanding of how you can join the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry, please watch our “Learn, Apply, and Share” video.

6) Doesn’t “unity” mean getting along with everyone, no matter what?
This is one of many critical errors that we hope to help the church correct. “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men” (Romans 12:18). Even in telling us to try to get along with everyone, Paul qualifies his instruction in two ways. First, it is not always possible, and second, it does not always depend on us. Elsewhere he cautions that peace is not always permissible if it means uniting with unbelievers, the openly immoral, or those who reject God’s truth (2 Corinthians 6:14). So, Christians love all people, even their enemies, and they do their best to be at peace with all people, but they realize that this is not always possible or permissible, nor is it always up to them. Even our Lord did not get along with everyone, though this was not due to any lack of love or hint of unrighteousness. Light and dark, holiness and sin, justice and injustice, love and hate, truth and falsehood—some things are simply incompatible, which is as it should be.
In our resources, you’ll find everything you need to understand what unity is according to the Bible, the kind of unity Christ prayed for in John 17:20–26. To begin, we recommend that you start learning with our John 17 Exegetical Guide or Christian Unity and You, which provides a focused look at how you can live in unity with your brothers and sisters in Christ. You can also check out God’s Will for Christian Unity, a comprehensive study of 30 Bible passages revealing God’s expectations for Christian unity.
-
7) What does it mean for me to be united in Christ?
Every born-again believer who is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ is incorporated into the body of Christ, the church. So, all Christians are united in Christ by definition because they are all united with Christ through salvation. We are called to live out this unity by loving, serving, respecting, and forgiving one another. We are to view and treat other born-again believers in a manner that reflects the actual oneness our Savior has achieved for us. We share the same heart and mind as we serve the same Lord by striving together for the same gospel. So being united in Christ means continually striving to live with other believers in a way that reflects the fact that Christ has made us all one in Him.
-
8) Are you part of the ecumenical movement?
No. We are not affiliated with the modern ecumenical movement or interested in reuniting Christian traditions or merging denominations. Our aim is to prayerfully persuade all believers of their obligation to love and serve other believers as they are instructed to do in God’s Word. Individual Christians obeying Christ’s command to love His disciples can transcend personal conflicts, generational gaps, gender differences, racial divisions, church walls, denominational distinctions, and secondary theological issues. But if people in the pews refuse to love their brothers and sisters in Christ, then it matters little what statements, gestures, or even organizational changes their leaders make.
We believe every believer should know and obey God’s will for Christian unity and help other believers to do the same. So, we have made resources available to teach and promote Christian unity in accordance with God’s Word so that individual Christians will learn, obey, and share their Lord’s command to love His disciples as He loved them.
-
9) Why should I care about Christian unity?
Christians should care deeply about unity because God does. He sent His Son to be crucified in order to reconcile sinners not only to Him but also with one another (Ephesians 2:11–21). Jesus issued a new commandment for believers to love one another as the visible validation to the world that they are indeed His disciples (John 13:34–35), and He cared about this new commandment so much that He repeated it twice (John 15:12–13, 17). Christ prayed for His followers to be one so that the world might believe that the Father had sent Him (John 17:20–23). Again, He didn’t pray this once, but repeated the words “that they may be one” four times in John 17, on the evening of His betrayal by Judas.
The risen Christ’s last command to His disciples was that they “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations … teaching them to observe [obey] all things that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19–20). Christ’s desire for the unity of His followers is a repeated theme throughout His ministry. Likewise, Paul writes that striving together with one mind for the sake of the gospel and diligently preserving unity are essential to walking in a manner worthy of our gospel calling (Philippians 1:27; Ephesians 4:1–3). Peter tells us to “fervently love one another from the heart,” to “love the brotherhood,” and, above all to “keep fervent in your love for one another” (1 Peter 1:22; 2:17; 4:8). James warns that a professed faith that does not help a brother or sister in need is “dead” and “useless” (James 2:17, 20, 26). John bluntly states, “If someone says, ‘I love God,’ but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And He has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.” (1 John 4:20–21).
Moreover, the health of local churches and much of the joy of your Christian life depends on love-based unity between believers. So, to please God and live lives worthy of the gospel, we must love and live in unity with other believers.
-
10) What would God have me do about Christian unity?
The apostle Paul’s words to the church at Philippi ring true today: “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27). The first thing God would have you do about Christian unity is live a life worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then He would have you stand firm with other Christians in your love for God and faith in the gospel. He would have you strive side-by-side with other Christians to bring the gospel to the world and plead with everyone to repent and believe. These three things are simply the beginning of a life devoted to being united in Christ.
-
11) Who are you trying to unite?
The Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry aims to foster a deep and genuine unity in Christ among true believers through the gospel of Jesus Christ by the powerful working of His Holy Spirit. We pray for millions of people to join us. We are unconcerned with denominational lines and organizational ties and very concerned with the substance of true faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
-
12) Why should I make unity with other Christians a priority?
We believe you should prioritize unity in your life because Jesus Christ prioritized it for your life in His final prayer for His disciples before going to the cross (John 17:20–23). If our Lord was stirred to pray in such a way and at such a time, we believe Christian unity should be a top priority in every believer’s life. Furthermore, Scripture is full of passages that reflect God the Father’s heart for His people to be united. Unity is critically important to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, so it should be critically important to all Christians.
-
13) Who worked on the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry?
The team members of the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry include business leaders, pastors, seminary professors, ministry leaders, authors, marketers, filmmakers, publishers, schoolteachers, homemakers, and many more. Each team member brings a unique set of spiritual gifts and skills to the work, and they are knit together by a deep concern for the unity of God’s people, both in the local church and throughout the world.
To give you a sense of our staff’s range of expertise, the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry team includes three doctorate degrees (with two more in process), fifteen master’s degrees in theology and education, and twenty-six bachelor’s degrees across a range of fields of study.
Beyond educational experience, the team includes six previously published authors and over 200 years of Bible study and pastoral leadership. Over 7 years, we’ve literally spent tens of thousands of hours engaged directly in the study and development of materials related to Christian unity in accordance with God’s Word.
-
14) Why are your authors and leaders anonymous?
The anonymity of the leaders and authors of the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry is not motivated by a desire for secrecy but by a desire to minimize the draw of human personality and maximize the impact of the Word of God. There are too many leaders who long for recognition, for influence, or for a platform to speak on.
We do not want Christians to use the resources of this ministry because of name recognition, but because they are rooted in Scripture and useful for stirring up love, peace, and unity in the body of Christ. We desire God alone to be glorified and do not want anything to distract anyone hearing what God has to say about His people’s unity. Like John the Baptist, we gladly choose to decrease that Christ might increase (John 3:30).
-
15) Can you provide the names of some Christian leaders who endorse or support the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry?
There are many highly-respected Christian leaders who endorse and support our ministry, but we want to maintain anonymity in keeping with the response to FAQ 14: “Why are your authors and leaders anonymous?”
You may, from time to time, see banners promoting our resources on other ministry’s websites or hear mention of us on their television and radio programs. That is at their discretion. We hope that once you read some of our resources, you will endorse them, sharing them with fellow believers and thus promoting both Christian unity and the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry.
-
16) Is this ministry affiliated with any particular denomination or group?
No. The Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry is not affiliated with any particular denomination or group. Among the more than 50 contributors to this ministry, a number of different denominations are represented, but we all proclaim one Lord, one Savior, and one faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
-
17) Is the goal of the ministry to unite denominations?
No. Our mission is not denominational and not organizational but personal and relational.
The Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry resources are intended to equip pastors, church leaders, and every follower of Jesus Christ to live obediently beneath the Word of God, to faithfully teach the Word of God, and to zealously labor for true unity in the body of Christ. We plead with God for ministers of reconciliation in churches. We pray for love and peace to abound through Christ in the countless communities of Christians all over the world. We believe that as you see the way God emphasizes love-based unity among His children in His Word, your prayers will be transformed the way ours have.
-
18) What does your logo mean?
The Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry logo depicts a cross and an open Bible next to the words, “Be United in Christ.” The cross of Jesus Christ is the place where unity is forged. It is at the cross that Christ provided a way for God to reconcile His people to Himself and to one another (Ephesians 2:11–21). At the same time, unity is based on the truth of God’s Word and the claims of the gospel (Ephesians 4:4–6).
Sadly, many in the world seek to build unity in other ways, through tolerance of sin and error rather than truth. Jesus didn’t ever confuse loving sinners with approving their sin. Right before Jesus asked for the Father to make us one, He prayed, “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake I consecrate Myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth” (John 17:17–19).
-
19) What does “Learn, Apply, Share” mean?
How did a dozen disciples change human history? By learning and applying what Jesus taught and then teaching others to do the same. They became disciples and then they made disciples, like Ezra before them who “set his heart to study the law of the Lord and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel” (Ezra 7:10).
We are simply following God’s Biblical playbook by encouraging believers to first learn about God’s will for Christian unity, then to apply [obey] it in their own lives and relationships, and then to share God’s will with others so that they might learn, apply, and share it as well. This is how God changes the body of Christ: by transforming believers who learn and apply His truth and then using them to transform their fellow believers in the same way. In this way we pray God will unite His people one by one to bring peace to His household and from there to the world around them.
For a more thorough understanding of the Learn, Apply, and Share approach to Christian unity, please watch our “Learn, Apply, and Share” video.

20) What does the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry believe about God?
We affirm the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed:
The Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.… * The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic [universal] Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
*Note: Historically, the phrase “He descended into hell” is inserted here, beginning in about 650 AD (See Wayne Grudem, “He Did Not Descend into Hell,” http://www.waynegrudem.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/he-did-not-descend-into-hell_JETS.pdf).
The Nicene Creed:
We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
He came down from heaven;
He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried.
The third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to Heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic [universal] and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen. -
21) What does the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry believe about the Bible?
We believe that the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are God-breathed and therefore fully inerrant and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice. In defining these terms, we affirm the 1978 Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy. This is the Short Statement from that document:
- God, who is Himself Truth and speaks truth only, has inspired Holy Scripture in order thereby to reveal Himself to lost mankind through Jesus Christ as Creator and Lord, Redeemer and Judge. Holy Scripture is God's witness to Himself.
- Holy Scripture, being God's own Word, written by men prepared and superintended by His Spirit, is of infallible divine authority in all matters upon which it touches: it is to be believed, as God's instruction, in all that it affirms: obeyed, as God's command, in all that it requires; embraced, as God's pledge, in all that it promises.
- The Holy Spirit, Scripture's divine Author, both authenticates it to us by His inward witness and opens our minds to understand its meaning.
- Being wholly and verbally God-given, Scripture is without error or fault in all its teaching, no less in what it states about God's acts in creation, about the events of world history, and about its own literary origins under God, than in its witness to God's saving grace in individual lives.
- The authority of Scripture is inescapably impaired if this total divine inerrancy is in any way limited or disregarded, or made relative to a view of truth contrary to the Bible's own; and such lapses bring serious loss to both the individual and the Church.
The full text of the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy can be found at here.
-
22) What does the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry believe about salvation?
We believe that people are saved by grace alone through faith alone on the basis of Christ alone so that they might walk in the good works that God has prepared for them (Ephesians 2:8–10). Because every person is a sinner who falls short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), everyone must be born again by the Holy Spirit to be saved (John 3:3, 5).
-
23) Doesn’t unity usually result in doctrinal or moral compromise?
True Christian unity is based on the words and works of God in saving us and joining us together in Christ. True Bible-based Christian unity, therefore, cannot possibly result in compromise, whether in morality or truth. As soon as we compromise morality or truth for the sake of joining to one another, we have created something false and shallow, a mere fabrication of unity devoid of the Holy Spirit who makes us one. Any unity of that sort is not worthy of the Christian name.
-
24) How is your mission different than other ecumenical, collaborative efforts (i.e., World Council of Churches, Together for the Gospel, the Gospel Coalition, etc.)?
The Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry is aimed at building a grassroots movement with Christians and pastors in churches and communities all over the world. The ministry is not a gathering place for church leaders and authors, nor do we aim to host conferences. Rather, we provide Biblical resources, guidance, and encouragement for fostering attitudes and actions of unity in the life of every Christian based on the authority of Scripture alone.

“Premium: A value in excess of that normally or usually expected.” This definition from Merriam-Webster’s website perfectly describes the resources in our Premium Collection. Without question, the primary reason we consider our 12 books to fit the definition of premium is the unique, insightful, life-transforming Bible-based content of each of the books in our Premium Collection. Our Premium Collection of books is packed with Bible passages, sermons, and other teachings on Christian unity from some of the greatest voices in church history, like Charles Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards, Jeremiah Burroughs, and others. They will change the way you think about Christian unity forever.
There are 11 of our 12 books that are printed in full-color on elegant, heavy-weight paper and bound with beautiful hardcovers, making them look and feel far superior to most other books. Additionally, your purchase of our Premium Collection of books provides the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry with financial support to continue to teach and promote Bible-based Christian unity around the globe.
-
4) What do you mean when you say your Premium Collection books are “Bible-based”?
When we say “Bible-based,” we mean that the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry Premium Collection of books arise from the words of Scripture, explain the meaning of Scripture, and aim to apply the teaching of Scripture in promoting unity in the body of Christ. Thousands of passages of Scripture are included in our Basic Resources and our Premium Collection of 12 life-transforming books.
-
5) Why are some of your resources free and some for sale?
To maintain the ministry and keep our free Basic Resources available to you, we must generate revenue from the 12 books in our Premium Collection. The books in our Premium Collection are in-depth writings delivered as high-quality audiobooks, eBooks, and print books.
-
6) Who are the authors of the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry Premium Collection books?
The primary authors are pastors, seminary professors, Bible teachers, and missionaries whom God has called and gifted to study and teach His Word with humility and fidelity.
For 7 years, we’ve literally spent tens of thousands of hours engaged directly in the study and development of materials related to Christian unity in accordance with God’s Word. Where we’ve modernized a classic Christian voice, like Jonathan Edwards, Charles Spurgeon, Jeremiah Burroughs, or others, we have identified them.
-
7) Why are authors not identified in any of the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry resources?
Since human pride around names, authors, and theological camps is such a common source of division in the body of Christ, it seemed wise for us to provide resources without reference to individual authors from our ministry. Where we’ve modernized a classic Christian voice (Spurgeon, Edwards, and Burroughs, etc.,), we’ve identified them. Beyond that, there are no author names listed. We believe that the strength of the resources, full of Bible passages, will be the best validation of their value.

8) What is an exegetical guide?
The word “exegesis” means “interpretation.” An “exegetical guide” is a Bible study and teaching tool that leads users into the correct interpretation and teaching of Scripture. So for select key passages revealing God’s will for Christian unity, we provide these detailed guides. These detailed guides introduce the passage, compare the original Hebrew or Greek with seven English translations, describe its structure, flow of thought, and main idea, and recommend several resources for further study.
Then they show you how to communicate the passage to others by outlining the passage, providing a concise commentary, suggesting applications and illustrations, and even offering a complete sermon outline and manuscript, along with several examples of model preaching on that very passage. God’s children learn God’s truth and will from God’s Word. Our exegetical guides help you both to understand the Bible accurately and also to communicate it to others effectively.
-
9) What’s different about the exegetical guides in the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry’s Premium Collection of books?
Our Premium Collection includes three in-depth exegetical guides addressing three crucial unity passages: Psalm 133, John 17:20–26, and 1 Corinthians 12. Psalm 133 is the only chapter in Scripture entirely devoted to unity. John 17:20–26 is Jesus’ final prayer for His disciples before His death—and He prayed for their unity. 1 Corinthians 12 is Paul’s fullest presentation of what it means for Christians to live in cooperation and interdependence with one another as the body of Christ.
These three Bible texts are so critical for Christian unity that in addition to providing in-depth Bible study and teaching tools, we also went back through years of church history to glean the most important insights from the past. We’ve included perspectives from great theologians of church history like Matthew Henry (1662–1714), Alexander Maclaren (1826–1910), Charles Spurgeon (1834–1892), Archibald Brown (1844–1922), Henry Van Dyke (1852–1933), and Neil MacMichael (1808–1872). Then, we added additional commentary to make these texts and messages even more applicable today.
These three book-length treatments are exegetically thorough yet reader-friendly, theologically rich and devotional, and both personally practical and ministerially useful. Elegantly and engagingly presented, they will make transforming reading for your walk with God, effective tools for your teaching ministry, and beautiful additions to your personal library.
-
10) What does a devotional have to do with Christian unity?
Christian unity does not begin with intellectual ideas and religious rules, but with hearts filled with the Holy Spirit, redeemed by the grace of God in Christ, and committed to the glory of God in all things. Greater love for God leads to greater love for God’s other adopted children. Deeper joy in Christ leads to deeper joy in our relationship with fellow believers. Peace in the soul produces peace in relationships.
Our devotional, Grace for Everyday Living, is intended to stir greater love for God, deeper joy in Christ, and genuine peace in the souls of God’s people, which will feed and foster the kind of unity God desires.

6) What is a Bible passage collection?
A Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry Bible Passage Collection is a collection of Scriptures focused on the critical topic of God’s desire for His people to be united. These collections contain Scripture along with a little bit of commentary to help you see God’s will for how Christians ought to treat each other. At just 8 pages each, these resources provide a quick introduction to what the Bible really says about Christian unity.
-
7) What is an exegetical guide and how do I use it?
The word “exegesis” means “interpretation.” An “exegetical guide” is a Bible study and teaching tool that leads users into the correct interpretation and teaching of Scripture. So for select key passages revealing God’s will for Christian unity, we provide these detailed guides. God’s children learn God’s truth and will from God’s Word. Our exegetical guides help you both to understand the Bible accurately and also to communicate it to others effectively.
-
8) How were the passages picked for the exegetical guides?
All the passages selected for our exegetical guides have a direct connection to the theme of unity in the body of Christ. If you want to preach and teach a series on Christian unity, we believe the collection of passages covered by the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry exegetical guides would provide a solid foundation. We selected Biblical texts in which love, reconciliation, unity, and peace among the people of God was a prominent theme or main point. Our hearts have been transformed by these passages. We believe yours will be, too.
-
9) Are your exegetical guides just for pastors?
No. Anyone can benefit from our exegetical guides. The purpose of the guides is to break down Scripture in a helpful way, to fully explain the message God is conveying to His people. We encourage you to explore our exegetical guides to see if they are the right fit for your learning style.
-
10) Why did the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry produce 14 book summaries in your Basic Resources?
In our Basic Resources, we have summarized 14 classic books relating to Christian unity for several reasons. First, to reacquaint believers with these highly-respected authors and beautiful works. Second, to make their insights available and accessible to Christians today. Third, to help modern, busy readers glean their knowledge. Fourth, to serve as guides to the full books themselves. Fifth, to encourage believers both to read more in general and to read Christian classics in particular. Ultimately, we’ve summarized these classic books to promote love-based unity in the body of Christ by making the wisdom of the ages easily accessible to Christ’s followers today.
-
11) How were the summarized books selected?
We searched for well-respected voices that spoke wisely on Christian unity. In doing so, we intentionally chose books representative of the major periods in church history—early, medieval, Reformation, post-Reformation, and modern—for unity is a topic of concern for believers in all ages. The importance of Christian love and the problem of Christian conflict are not limited to any particular period, place, or denomination. The Biblical solutions offered to promote Christian love and resolve Christian conflict are not limited either. We believe that the thousands of hours spent researching, updating, and summarizing these works for the benefit of the body of Christ will prove to be worthwhile.
-
12) Why are so many book summaries built around older works?
When we set about studying the things Christians have said about unity since the writing of the New Testament, we were surprised at just how much God’s people have had to say about it. Unity was important to Christ and throughout Christian history. We found many pastors, theologians, and writers for whom it was also a critical theme. And yet, the church today seems more divided than ever. Rather than reinvent the wheel, we wanted to point to the great Christian theologians, pastors, preachers, and writers who have addressed the topic in the past, highlighting, expounding, and helping modern readers to access these classic works.
-
13) How do I use a book summary?
There are several ways to use a Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry book summary. You can read the summary in order to glean the highlights of the book, learning about the book in general. You can read the book summary to determine if you would like to track down a copy of the original work. You can read the book summary, along with our other resources, in order to develop a comprehensive Biblical and theological understanding of what the Bible teaches about unity in the body of Christ. And you can read the book summary with your fellow believers (for example, for a Wednesday Bible study) as a means to help your understanding of Christian unity in the context of Christian community.
-
14) How many of your resources are free, and how many have to be purchased?
The Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry has 25 free Basic Resources and 12 books for sale in our Premium Collection. The books in our Premium Collection include in-depth writings delivered as high-quality audiobooks, eBooks, and beautiful print books. We are confident in saying that you cannot find a more comprehensive, high-quality collection of Bible-based resources on the subject of Christian unity anywhere else.
-
15) I’m not a scholar, so are your exegetical guides and your other Basic Resources for me?
Absolutely! We try to present each resource in a way that is understandable to the largest number of people, understanding that few will be scholarly. Our exegetical guides target people who intend to teach the Bible in the body of Christ. The Bible passage collections and book summaries, on the other hand, are all created for a broader audience. You will enjoy reading them and learning much from them.
-
16) Am I really free to copy and distribute the 25 Basic Resources?
The Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry offers its Basic Resources free of charge, so you should feel free to use and distribute the materials. Our only restrictions are that you do not alter the content in any way, that you do not sell the content for profit, and that you attribute the work to the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry. Our Basic Resources are meant for widespread distribution and use. Our goal is to equip the body of Christ as broadly and cost-effectively as possible. We made over 60% of our resources free to accomplish that objective.
-
17) How will your resources bring clearer understanding about Biblical unity?
We believe that every believer can develop a clearer understanding of what Christian unity really is through Scripture taught plainly and interpreted well. The Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry Basic Resources and Premium Collection books will help you to understand what the Bible really says about Christian unity. Scripture has much to say on this topic. You will learn both what the Bible says and how to apply it to your everyday life to bring glory to God through your relationships with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
-
18) How can your resources benefit me and other believers?
Christ prayed for His disciples to be one, yet they are everywhere divided. He commands believers to love one another, yet they are everywhere in conflict. Our resources demonstrate from God’s Word the priority and proper nature of Christian unity and then provide practical guidance on how to preserve and promote it.
By learning, applying, and sharing God’s will for Christian unity, you can help restore, maintain, and foster loving harmony with other believers. As a result, your relationships will be more rewarding, your communities more loving, your witness more glorifying, and your life and church more pleasing to God. Our resources teach God’s truth to help you and other believers to be united in Christ, which will make you more effective in making disciples for Christ.

Extracting a zip file:
Most operating systems have built-in utilities to decompress files. You do not need any extra software. To decompress a file or folder on a Mac, just double-click it. To open a zipped file on a PC, you can double-click or right-click it to open it. Double-click the zipped file to see its contents. When prompted, drag the files out of the window to the desired location, or click Extract All. When you click Extract All, the files are unzipped in the same location as the original file unless you specify a different one in the Select a Destination window. Or you can right-click the zipped file and select Extract All. By default, files are extracted to the same location as the original zipped file. Use the Select a Destination window to save the files to another folder.
Transferring to your device:
- Locate the folder containing the audiobooks on your hard drive
- Connect your device to your computer via the USB cable
- Find the device as a drive location on your machine (under My Computer in Windows, for example).
- Open the appropriate folder on the device. (Tip: use the Audible folder on a Kindle device, the music folder on an Android device, and either the Audiobook or Music folder on an Apple device).
- Drag-and-drop (or copy and paste) the MP3 audiobook files to the appropriate folder.
-
3) Are there limits to how I can use these MP3 files?
The Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry provides MP3 files without DRM for our audiobook listeners. This means that they don’t expire, don’t get used up, and can be transferred to all your devices.
Note: because our audiobook files are provided DRM free, you can create an audio CD with your purchased content. Producing more than one copy of the audiobook you purchased is a violation of international copyright law. We ask that you not copy purchased audiobooks from our Premium Collection for others. Instead, please encourage them to purchase their own copies.
-
4) Do you sell your audiobooks on CD?
No. We do not offer our audiobooks on audio CD. The best way for us to distribute the work of the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry is via digital download whenever possible. If you have a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone, downloading and listening to our audiobooks is easy and convenient.
-
5) Can I burn these files to a CD?
Yes, you can! Here are some things to consider:
An Audio CD can hold up to 80 minutes of audio. That means that you’ll need roughly one burnable CD for every hour of audiobook.
If your computer has an optical drive (i.e. a CD, DVD, or BluRay drive), it is very likely that it can burn audio CDs. More and more computers are sold without optical drives, however, so you will need to assess your own equipment. Additionally, you will need to have software on your computer that burns CDs (most modern operating systems support this natively) and you will need the correct CD media. Check your computer’s documentation to learn more about burning audio CDs.
We are unable to give specific instructions on burning our audiobook files to CDs because your exact configuration will vary, but here are some general steps:
There are several methods of burning CDs offered in most CD burning software. Select Audio Burning rather than Data for burning CDs to be played on your car or home CD player.
Follow any on-screen prompts to burn the files to CD. Some programs will have you click an additional confirmation button to finalize the burn. If you skip this step, the CD may not play in all CD players.
Insert the CD into your car or home stereo system for a test run. The disc should play just like a commercial audio CD. If your stereo cannot play the disc but your computer can, that means the stereo system is unable to decode the files and you will need to use a different format.
Many stereo systems cannot read CD-RWs (Re-Writable disk) so you should use CD-Rs to burn files for use in a home stereo or car CD player.
Please share the Basic Resources freely, but we ask that you not share or copy purchased files from our Premium Collection with others. Instead, encourage them to purchase their own copies.

6) Are your audiobooks available on Amazon, Audible, BarnesandNoble.com, or anywhere other than your website?

2) What if something looks wrong in a PowerPoint presentation?
We’ve gone to great lengths to create PowerPoint presentations that should be widely compatible, even with older versions of PowerPoint. Our PowerPoint presentations do use the animation features of the software, so they are best viewed in full-screen, slideshow mode. If your software doesn’t seem to be functioning correctly, you can view the slideshows directly on our About page instead.

3) I’m hard-of-hearing, do your videos feature closed captioning?
Yes. We have provided full closed-captioning on each of our 6 videos and 12 book trailers. You can see them by clicking the CC button, highlighted here:
