What Does it Mean to Be United in Christ?
Every born-again believer who is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ is incorporated into the body of Christ, the church. So, all Christians are united in Christ by definition because they are all united with Christ through salvation. We are called to live out this unity by loving, serving, respecting, and forgiving one another. We are to view and treat other born-again believers in a manner that reflects the actual oneness our Savior has achieved for us. We share the same heart and mind as we serve the same Lord by striving together for the same gospel. So being united in Christ means continually striving to live with other believers in a way that reflects the fact that Christ has made us all one in Him.
What Do We Mean When We Ask You to Join Us in Promoting Christian Unity?
Biblical Christian unity is a serious need among God’s family. The vision of the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry can only be accomplished as lives are transformed—lives from a variety of churches, cities, countries, continents, people groups, and social standings. Our objective is to help you learn what the Bible really says about Christian unity. If we achieve that, we hope to challenge you to live it by applying what you’ve learned to your everyday life. Then, as you live with a greater love for your Savior and your Christian brothers and sisters, we hope you’ll share what you’ve learned about Bible-based Christian unity and our mission with other believers.
